Apokatastasis (Final Universal Restoration)
EN — Transliteration: Apokatástasis
The ultimate restoration and reconciliation of all things and all beings to God. A primary doctrine of the early Greek Church Fathers, later censored by political councils.
Apokatastasis (ἀποκατάστασις) is the ultimate victory of God's Love: the restoration of all creation and all human beings.
🔬 The Restoration of All Things
Biblical Foundation: In Acts 3:21, Peter speaks of the 'apokatastasis of all things' spoken by the prophets. Paul asserts that God will be 'all in all' (1 Corinthians 15:28) and reconcile all things through the cross.
Censorship at Constantinople (553 AD): Taught by Origen and Gregory of Nyssa, this doctrine was condemned during the imperial councils of Justinian, who preferred the threat of eternal punishment to rule the Empire.
Perspective Conceptuelle
Symbolic Visualization: The tree of life extending golden roots over barren rocks to restore them.
