Gehenna (Valley of Hinnom (Historical Site))
EN — Transliteration: Géenna
A physical valley outside Jerusalem's walls (Valley of Hinnom) used as a garbage dump. It was transformed into a mythological place of eternal torture by dogmatic translators.
Gehenna is not a spiritual place of eternal torture, but a physical geographical valley in Jerusalem that had a traumatic history.
🔬 A Physical Valley, Not a Mythical Hell
Geographical Site: The Valley of Hinnom (Ge-Hinnom) is located southwest of Jerusalem. In antiquity, it was a place where child sacrifices were made to Molech, and later it became a garbage dump where fires burned constantly to consume waste.
Metaphor of Ruin: Jesus used Gehenna as a metaphor for the physical ruin and national destruction that would strike Jerusalem in 70 AD under Roman armies, not as a threat of post-mortem torture.
Perspective Conceptuelle
Symbolic Visualization: The dry and rocky valley of Hinnom, outside Jerusalem's walls, under a sunset light.
