Oikeios (Household Intimate / Family Member)
EN — Transliteration: Oikeîos
Oikeios (οἰκεῖος) comes from oikos (house, home, household). It designates the intimate household member — not the friendly neighbor nor the business associate, but the one who shares home, table, and family life-code. In Ephesians 2:19, Paul declares that Gentiles have become oikeioi tou theou — intimates of God's household, abolishing the boundary between reserved sacred and universal access.
Oikeios (οἰκεῖος) is the term of domestic familiarity. It does not simply designate 'those who belong to the group' but those who inhabit the house — sharing daily intimacy, vulnerability, and the co-responsibility of the household.

📖 Ephesians 2:19 — The Declaration of Belonging
"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household (oikeioi tou theou)."
Paul builds a progression: stranger (xenos) → outside resident (paroikos) → citizen (sympolitēs) → household intimate (oikeios). The oikeios is not simply admitted into the country — admitted into the house, into domestic intimacy. It is the strongest term in the progression.
